How to play 2048
- Every move slides all tiles in the same direction until they hit the edge.
- Two tiles with the same number merge into one with double the value: 2+2=4, 4+4=8, and so on.
- After each move a new tile appears (usually a 2, sometimes a 4).
- Your score goes up with every merge. The game ends when no moves are left.
Tips to beat your high score
- Pick a corner and keep your biggest tile there for the whole game.
- Use only three directions most of the time; the fourth only when there is no other choice.
- Build a “staircase” of decreasing values along the edge next to your corner.
- Do not chase random merges in the middle: they scramble the board.
